Biographical Information[edit]
Jessica Herrera has played for the Cuban women's national team.
She debuted in the 2015 Pan American Games, she went two-for-six with a hit-by-pitch and two steals in three tries. She handled 14 error-free chances at third and short. She led women in the event in fielding, .071 ahead of Michelle Snyder (among men in the Games, Rudy Reyes and Tyler Pastornicky had more error-free chances at third, but the men played more contests). [1] In the 2016 Women's Baseball World Cup, she mostly played left, hitting .214/.389/.214 with six runs and three steals in seven games. She had 14 error-free chances again. [2]
Herrera was back at third by the 2018 Women's Baseball World Cup, batting .304/.385/.304 with five runs in eight games and four steals in six tries. She again dazzled on defense, with 7 putouts, 19 assists and no errors. She tied Yu-Ying Hsieh for 6th in the Cup in assists. [3]
