Biographical Information[edit]
Dafne Mejia was 2 for 5 with a walk and two RBI for Mexico in the 2022 Women's Baseball Americas World Cup Qualifier, being used as a DH/PH as they won a spot in the 2023 Women's Baseball World Cup. [1] In group play in the World Cup, she was used as a pitcher in her only game and did very well. Relieving Narda Andrade in the second with a 6-3 deficit, two outs and one on against Hong Kong, she began by retiring Janice Lau. She then retired the other nine batters, including a whiff of Vivien Cheung, as Mexico rallied for a 16-6 win. She got the decision over Hei-Ting Lau. Only Jillian Albayati and Sarah Pengelly worked more innings with no runs allowed and no one worked more innings with a perfect WHIP. [2]
