Mexico won a spot in the 2023-2024 Women's Baseball World Cup. [1] In their first Women's Baseball World Cup, Mexico did an excellent job, finishing 4th out of 12 teams. She struggled in two outings in the 2023 portion, allowing seven hits, two walks and nine runs (all earned) in 1 2/3 IP, though she struck out two. She tied Shee-In Choi for fifth in Group A in runs allowed and tied Min-sung Park for third in earned runs. Only Paulina Ruiz had a higher ERA for Mexico. [2] In the final round, she fared much better. Relieving Daniela Leal, she allowed one run in 3 2/3 IP to beat Chiao-Yun Huang and defending Silver Medalist Taiwan. In the Bronze Medal Game, she succeeded Maricela Aguillera with two outs and one on in the 5th and a 4-1 deficit against Canada. She retired Kaitlyn Ross to end that inning then went 1-2-3 against Emily Baxter, Sena Catterall and Madison Willan. Mexico brought it to 4-2 before the game ended. Among pitchers to allow an earned run in the final round, only Wakana Mori and Aguillera had better ERAs. [3]
