Biographical Information[edit]
Kaitlyn Ross debuted for Team Canada in the 2018 Women's Baseball World Cup at age 17. She split catching with Daniella Matteucci. Her first time up, she singled off Maraisy Pérez of Cuba to drive in Kate Psota. In the Bronze Medal Game, she scored Canada's first run, drawing a fifth-inning walk from Team USA's Brittany Schutte and scoring on a Daphnée Gélinas dinger; Canada went on to win the Bronze. She hit .385/.467/.462 for the event with two runs and three RBI in five games, fielding .885 and throwing out 2 of 8 who tried to steal. [1]
Trading in her catcher's mask for a goalie's mask, she was MVP of the U Sports Women's Hockey Championship in 2023. [2] She was 37-19 with a 1.32 goals-against average and .938 save percentage in college from 2019-2023. [3] She then made Canada's team for the 2023 Women's Baseball World Cup. [4]
