Biographical Information[edit]
Maraisy Pérez has been on the Cuban women's national team.
In the 2018 Women's Baseball World Cup, she debuted against Canada. Getting the start, she allowed 9 hits, 2 walks and 7 runs (6 earned) in 3 1/3 IP, though she did strike out one (Nicole Luchanski); Isabel Gonzalez took over and got the loss. Two days later, she was back on the hill and much sharper, shutting out champion Japan on two hits over the first five, carrying a 1-0 lead over Ami Sakahara, but Iori Miura doubled in Tomomi Nakada in the 6th to tie it. Dianelis Porro came in and let the inherited runner score, giving Pérez a tough loss. She allowed two runs (both earned) in two innings of relief in Cuba's win over South Korea. In her third and final start of the Cup, she went the distance, allowing five hits and one walk while striking out three in a win over the Netherlands' Maud Werkman. She tied for 4th in the event in games pitched, tied for second in starts (with Chiao-Yun Huang, Ayami Sato, Amanda Asay and Marlenny Quero, one behind Ching-Wen Hu), tied Asay for 4th in IP (17 2/3), tied Porro for 6th in hits allowed (18), tied Wing-Yan Leung and Merle Langevoord for 7th in earned runs allowed (11) despite not being in the top ten in runs allowed and tying for 9th in walks. She allowed four hits and three runs (two earned) in one inning in the 2022 Women's Baseball Americas World Cup Qualifier. [2]
