Biographical Information[edit]

Dianelis Porro debuted for the Cuban women's national team in the 2018 Women's Baseball World Cup. She made her first appearance against Australia, relieving Mayumis Solano in the 3rd and closing out the game (4 IP, 5 H, 4 BB, 7 R, 3 ER). The first batter she faced was Abbey McLellan, who walked, and the first batter she retired was Tahnee Lovering on a sacrifice fly to score an inherited runner. She threw a complete game in a mercy rule win over the Dominican Republic, a two-hit shutout (2 BB, 1 K) over five innings. She also lost to Hong Kong, giving up 3 runs in 1/3 IP. Overall, she pitched in six of Cuba's eight games, going 1-1 with a 6.46 ERA. She worked 13 innings (18 H, 12 BB, 16 R, 12 ER, 1 K). She also played short, going 3-for-9 with a run and a RBI. She handled 30 chances error-free. She tied Ching-Wen Hu for the Cup lead in games pitched, tied for 7th with two starts, pitched one of the five solo shutouts (the others were from Anne-Sophie Lavallée, Ayami Sato, Stacy Piagno and Amanda Asay), tied Maraisy Perez for 6th in hits allowed, tied Maud Werkman for 4th in runs allowed, tied Hu and Giddelys Cumana for 4th in earned runs allowed and tied Alli Schroder for 2nd in walks (3 behind Rak-yung Kim).
