Biographical Information[edit]
Song-hee Choi debuted for the South Korean women's national team in the 2023 Women's Baseball Asian Cup, allowing 7 hits, 3 walks and 8 runs (6 earned) in one inning, facing the top two teams in Japan and Taiwan. [1] They still qualified for the 2023-2024 Women's Baseball World Cup. In that event, she started on the hill against Australia, losing to Claire O'Sullivan. She began by allowing a single to Ticara Geldenhuis. She struck out Kelsey Brennan but Geldenhuis stole two bases and scored on a Morgan Doty fly. She plunked Abbey McLennan and yielded singles to Gen Beacom, Caitlin Eynon and Maddison Heath to make it 2-0 before she struck out Abbey Kelly. After the first four reached in the second (including a Geldenhuis homer), she was replaced by Ji-sook Lee. On the other hand, she was a bright spot in a 10-0 loss to Mexico. Relieving Min-sung Park in the 3rd, she allowed one hit in 2 1/3 shutout innings before Yu-jin Lee came in. [2]
