Biographical Information[edit]

Alexane Fournier played for Canada in the 2023 Women's Baseball World Cup. She debuted against Mexico, replacing Madison Willan at short and being retired by Selene Huerta. Her next game, she singled off Hong Kong's Debby Su-Yee Mak her first time up and finished with five hits. She later had a five-RBI day against Australia to finish pool play at .563/.563/.563 with 5 runs, 7 RBI and 3 steals (in 4 tries) in 4 games, fielding .818. Her time on the mound did not go well as she was shelled for 7 runs in 1/3 of an inning against Team USA. She tied for 10th in the Canadian pool in runs, was second in hits (one shy of Alex Hugo), tied Remi Schaber for third in RBI, tied for 3rd in steals (one behind Kelsie Whitmore and Wing-Hin Ng), 3rd in average (behind Hugo and Zoe Hicks) and tied for 5th with 7 assists. Canada moved on to the 2024 phase of the tournament. [1]
