Biographical Information[edit]

Chia-Hui Yang has played regularly for the Taiwanese women's national team.

In the 2014 Women's Baseball World Cup, she backed up Yu-Ying Hsieh at short, going 1 for 4 with a steal and a run. Her hit came off Vanessa Riopel of Canada. She had two chances in the field and no miscues. [1] At the 2016 Women's Baseball World Cup, she played fairly regularly at first. She hit .308/.400/.692 with seven RBI and three doubles in seven games, handling 35 chances error-free. She tied Yordanka Rodríguez for 10th in the Cup in RBI, tied for 3rd in doubles (one behind Olivia Bannon and Tamara Holmes) and was 4th in most chances for someone without an error. [2]

Yang was at third base by the 2017 Women's Baseball Asian Cup, driving in Chiao-Yun Huang with their only run in a loss to Japan. She had 3 hits and 3 runs against South Korea and 3 RBI versus India. She finished the event at .455/.429/.636 with six runs and seven RBI in five games, fielding .889 for the Silver Medal winners. She was 5th in average (between Yu-Chuan Tu and Tsz-Chin Lau), tied for 5th in runs, tied for 4th in doubles (2), tied Woon-Yee Sinney Cheuk and Yuka Ogata for second in RBI (two behind Tu), was 4th in slugging (between Tu and Wing-Ki Mui) and ranked 9th in OBP (between Lau and Chee-Ar Lui). She was the event's All-Star third baseman, one of three Taiwanese players picked (alongside Hsing-Yeh Tsai and Chien-Fen Chen). [3]

She played all four infield slots in the 2018 Women's Baseball World Cup. She had a three-run game against South Korea. In nine games, she hit .471/.625/.706 with seven runs, six walks and three steals in three tries, while fielding .895. She was 1 for 3 against Ayami Sato in the Gold Medal Game loss to Japan. She was again named the All-Star at 3B. She tied for the event lead in triples (2, even with Chelsea Forkin, Iori Miura, Yanela Gomez and Miku Kitayama), was 8th in slugging (between Janiliz Rivera and Lau), 5th in OBP (tied with Elodie O'Sullivan perhaps; it is unclear if O'Sullivan had enough plate appearances to qualify), tied for 8th in walks and was 5th in OPS (between Taylah Welch and either O'Sullivan or Shae Lillywhite, depending on the qualifying cut-off).
