Biographical Information[edit]
Chee-Ar Lui has played regularly for the Hong Kong women's national team.
Lui debuted in the 2016 Women's Baseball World Cup, batting for Hei-Ting Lau and singling off Australia's Kim McMillan her first time up. She finished at .294/.368/.353 with 3 runs, 3 RBI and 3 steals in 6 games, handling two putouts at catcher (allowing 8 steals in 8 tries) and mostly playing DH. [1] At the 2017 Women's Baseball Asian Cup, she produced at a .353/.412/.412 clip with six runs in five games, handling five chances error-free and giving up 10 steals in 11 attempts. She had a four-run game against India. She tied teammates Kit-King Yeung and Wing-Ki Mui for 9th in average, tied for 5th in runs, was 10th in slugging and 8th in OBP (between Chia-Hui Yang and Harue Yoshii). [2]
In the 2018 Women's Baseball World Cup, she hit .300/.462/.300 with two runs in five games, handling four putouts and allowing 19 steals in 19 tries. She again alternated between C and DH. Only Noelia Morena and Lotte Tanke allowed more steals and they both threw out runners. [3] She had a five-RBI day against South Korea in the 2019 Women's Baseball Asian Cup. [4] She hit .615/.625/.846 with five runs and six RBI in five games, finishing 7th in hits; she would have been 6th in average had she qualified. [5] During the 2023 Women's Baseball Asian Cup, her batting line was .417/.500/.583 with 3 RBI in 6 games. She fielded .889 and allowed 15 steals in 17 tries. Only Shyla Mae Celis threw out more runners. [6] Hong Kong won a spot in the 2023 Women's Baseball World Cup.
