Biographical Information[edit]

Valerie Perez has played for the USA women's national team.

She played softball, basketball and cross country in high school, then softball in college. [1] She then became a firefighter and paramedic in her native Corpus Christi. [2] At age 31, she made the US women's team for a major event for the first time, in the 2023-2024 Women's Baseball World Cup's 2023 group stage. She debuted against Australia, hitting 8th and playing short. She drew a walk from Gen Beacom her first time up and came around to score the first run of the US's 3-2 win. Her first hit was a two-run single off South Korea's Sayuri Ono, part of a 3-RBI day. She finished the group play at .375/.500/.375 with 4 runs and 5 RBI in 4 games, fielding .800. She tied for 9th in RBI in group A but also tied for 9th with 2 errors. [3]
