Biographical Information[edit]
Kate Blunt has been on the USA women's national team.
She struck out four and allowed one run in 2 1/3 IP in the 2019 COPABE Women's Pan-American Championship then appeared in a 2022 exhibition series against Canada. [1] She played for her high school's baseball team, batting .286 and striking out 15 in 14 2/3 IP in 2019. [2] She played softball at UCLA. [3] In the 2023-2024 Women's Baseball World Cup, she joined the US for the final round. She made two appearances for the Silver Medal-winning Americans. Against Canada, she replaced Valerie Perez at short. In her lone at-bat, she doubled off Amy Johnson to drive in Kelsie Whitmore. She handled a putout in the field. Her other game, she faced defending Silver Medalist Taiwan. She relieved Elise Berger in the 5th with a 7-0 lead. She walked Yi-Hsuan Chiu then Yu-Ying Hsieh hit into a double play. Chiao-Yun Huang walked and Blunt retired Hsiao-Mei Chen. Niki Eckert wrapped up the shutout. [4]
