Biographical Information[edit]

Yu-Pei Chen has been on the Taiwanese women's national team. Her sister Yu-Hsuan Chen also played for Taiwan.

Chen debuted in the 2023 Women's Baseball Asian Cup, relieving Hsiao-Chien Wang in the third inning against China. She retired Jiayi Zhao and walked Jie Li then struck out Wenjin Zhou and Yue Wang. Chi-Fen Chen relieved; Yu-Pei got the win over Sixuan Liu. She then got the start in the title game versus powerhouse Japan. She lost to Ayami Sato, allowing four hits, two walks and four runs (all earned) in two innings; Chi-Jung Chen relieved. [1]

In the 2023-2024 Women's Baseball World Cup, she beat Nylah Ramirez and Puerto Rico despite 10 hits and 6 runs (all earned) in 4 1/3 IP; Wen-Ching Hsieh succeeded her. She also started versus France, and gave up two runs in two innings as she was outdueled by Cassandra Vigneau to that point. Yu-Chuan Tu came in to relieve and Taiwan rallied. She tied for the group B lead in starts, tied Janiliz Rivera and Camille Foucher for 4th in hits allowed (13), was 9th in runs allowed, tied Vigneau and Ambre Brouard for 5th in earned runs (8), tied for 7th in walks (4) and tied tied Rivera for 7th in K (4). Taiwan moved on to the 2024 portion of the event. [2]
