Biographical Information

Yu-Hsuan Chen pitched in the CPBL for 4 years.

Chen was drafted by the Uni-President Lions in the 3rd round of the 2016 CPBL Draft, and he had a 8.10 ERA in 5 games in his rookie year. He was 5-3 with a 5.66 ERA in the minors in 2017, and his ERA was 8.10 in 4 games with the big club. Chen went 0-4 with a 7.28 ERA in the minors in 2018, and he allowed 8 runs in 8 innings in the major league. He was 2-1 with a 6.43 ERA for the Auckland Tuatara in winter. Chen only pitched 3 games with the big club in 2019, and he didn’t pitch another game until he announced his retirement in 2021.

Chen’s repertoire included a fastball (peak 91.3 mph),forkball and slider.

Overall, Chen was 2-1 with a 9.39 ERA, pitched 30 2/3 innings and struck out 22 in 4 seasons in the CPBL.
