Biographical Information[edit]
Julia Konigshofer debuted for Canada in the 2023-2024 Women's Baseball World Cup. Her first game, she was the starting pitcher against Hong Kong. She began by allowing a double to Wing-Hin Ng but retired Wai-Yee Vivien Cheung, Wing-Ki Mui and Janice Chi-Kay Lau to escape unscathed. She retired the next four batters to make it 7 in a row but then tired, giving up 3 walks, 2 hits and 3 runs (one earned) in the third. Amy Johnson closed it out and Konigshofer got the win over Debby Su-Yee Mak. Her other game, she played second base and hit 6th against South Korea as 2B Ela Day-Bedard moved to right field. She hit a two-run homer and a RBI single off Bo-mi Kim and was plunked with the bases loaded for a four-RBI day. She tied for the group lead in homers and tied for third in wins as Canada advanced to the 2024 phase. [1] While her fastball hit 80 mph, her college scholarship came in javelin rather than baseball.
