2020 Women's Baseball World Cup
The 2020 Women's Baseball World Cup is scheduled to be the 9th Women's Baseball World Cup. For the first time, most countries had to qualify as Europe added a qualifier (Asia already had one) and the Americas expanded theirs to leave no automatic American entrants. France made its first Cup by winning the 2019 European Women's Championship. People's Republic of China and Philippines finished in the top four in the 2019 Women's Baseball Asian Cup to qualify for the first time ( Chinese Taipei and Japan also placed in the top four). Mexico, United States, Canada and Venezuela qualified for their performance in the 2019 Women's Pan-Am Baseball Championship; Mexico was debuting. Getting wild card invites were Netherlands and Cuba while Australia was the Oceanic representative. Originally scheduled for August and September, it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
