2017 National Baseball Congress World Series
The 2017 National Baseball Congress World Series was again split into "First Week" and "Championship Week" brackets. Each bracket was divided into four pools of four teams each. The top two teams from First Week advance to Championship Week.
The University of Iowa participated as the USA National Team. No team from the M.I.N.K. Baseball League participated this year. The league had sent at least one team every year since it was founded in 1996. The Cape Girardeau Capahas, the oldest amateur team in the country, [1] never took part. They had played in every NBC since 1982.
30 teams from eight different states took part in the tournament which was won by the Kansas Stars. The Stars, a collection of former major leaguers, never lost a game and outscored the opposition 47-11. Ryan Langerhans was named MVP.
