1992 National Baseball Congress World Series
The 1992 National Baseball Congress World Series was won by the Midlothian White Sox of the Northern Illinois League. The White Sox beat the Liberal BeeJays in the final by a score of 21-1, hitting seven home runs in the game including grand slams by Mike Kane and Dick Canan. They hit 27 in the tournament, one short of the NBC record. It is the biggest margin of victory in the history of the NBC championship game.
It was the White Sox first (and only) NBC championship and in turn become the first team from Illinois to win the tournament.
Midlothian catcher Mike Kane, a former Boston Red Sox minor leaguer, was named MVP of the Wichita, KS tournament.
