1988 National Baseball Congress World Series
The 1988 National Baseball Congress World Series was won by the Everett Merchants of the Western International League (now called the Pacific International League). They beat the Midlothian White Sox 14-11.
The Merchants become the first team from Washington State to win the championship. Both teams were making their first appearance in the NBC final, played at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium in Wichita, KS.
Everett pitcher David Wong, a former Kansas City Royals minor leaguer, was named tournament MVP.
