2006 National Baseball Congress World Series
The 2006 National Baseball Congress World Series was played at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium in Wichita, KS. 42 teams from 15 different states competed at the tournament which used the double-elimination format.
The Santa Barbara Foresters of the California Collegiate League won their first NBC championship beating the Derby Twins in the final. The Foresters were making their second straight appearance in the final, having lost the previous year to Prairie Gravel.
For the first time ever the NBC named joint MVP's, and both players pitched for beaten finalists Derby: Jon Qualls of Friends University and Matt Whitaker of the University of Central Arkansas.
