1947 National Baseball Congress World Series
The 1947 National Baseball Congress World Series was won by Fort Wayne General Electric, who won their first NBC championship by beating Golden Coors of Colorado 4-2 in the title game. They are the first team from Indiana to win the final.
The tournament MVP was Golden first baseman Bruce Konopka, who appeared in 38 games for the Philadelphia Athletics last year.
The National Baseball Congress World Series is played each August at Lawrence Stadium in Wichita, KS.
