1944 National Baseball Congress World Series
The 1944 National Baseball Congress World Series was the 10th edition of the Wichita, KS tournament. The winners were the Sherman Field Flyers as they beat fellow servicemen the Enid Airs 5-4 in the title game. It was the first (and only) NBC championship for the Flyers. Enid were runners up for the second year running.
Enid outfielder/pitcher Cot Deal, a Pittsburgh Pirates minor leaguer, was named MVP of the tournament.
