1951 National Baseball Congress World Series
The 1951 National Baseball Congress World Series was won by the Plymouth Oilers. They became the first team from Texas to win the championship by going undefeated through the tourney then beat the Atwater Packers in the final. The 3-0 scoreline was the first shutout in the history of the NBC championship game.
MVP was Plymouth shortstop Steve Repach, who in 1942 pitched in the minor leagues for the New York Yankees.
32 teams participated at the Wichita, KS tournament.
