1972 National Baseball Congress World Series
The 1972 National Baseball Congress World Series saw the same two teams play for the championship as the previous year. But this time the Alaska Goldpanners came out on top as they beat their Alaska rivals the defending champion Anchorage Glacier Pilots 3-2. It was the first NBC title for the Goldpanners who had gone 0-3 in previous finals.
Goldpanners outfielder Kerry Dineen of the University of San Diego was named the tournament MVP.
The home of the NBC World Series, Lawrence Stadium in Wichita, KS, was renamed "Lawrence-Dumont Stadium" to honor Hap Dumont, founder of the National Baseball Congress.
