1940 National Baseball Congress World Series
The 1940 National Baseball Congress World Series champions were the Champlin Refiners. The Refiners beat the Mount Pleasant Cubs in the final 5-1. It was the second championship for the club, who also won in 1937 under the name Eason Oilers. Mt. Pleasant lost their second straight final.
Champlin pitcher Vance Cauble, a five year minor league veteran, was named MVP of the Wichita, KS tournament.
