1977 National Baseball Congress World Series
The 1977 National Baseball Congress World Series championship was another all-Alaskan match-up as the Peninsula Oilers beat defending champs the Alaska Goldpanners 6-3 to win their first NBC tournament title. While this was the Oilers first appearance in the NBC final the Goldpanners were playing in their seventh straight championship game.
Tournament MVP was Peninsula outfielder Bob Skube of the University of Southern California.
The National Baseball Congress World Series is played every August at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium in Wichita, KS.
