1982 National Baseball Congress World Series
The 1982 National Baseball Congress World Series was played at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium in Wichita, KS. The tournament uses the double elimination format.
The Santa Maria Indians won their first (and only) NBC crown as they beat the Anchorage Glacier Pilots 11-4 in the championship game and became the first team from California to win the NBC World Series.
Indians outfielder Dave Hengel of the University of California was named tournament MVP.
