1989 National Baseball Congress World Series
The 1989 National Baseball Congress World Series was won by the Wichita Broncos of the Jayhawk League beating the Grand Rapids Sullivans 3-2 in the final. The Broncos had lost to the Sullivans earlier in the tournament 4-2.
The Broncos become the first team from Wichita, KS to win the NBC championship in 24 years, since the Rapid Transit Dreamliners won in 1965.
Wichita pitcher Jim Huslig of the University of Oklahoma was named tournament MVP.
