2001 National Baseball Congress World Series
The 2001 National Baseball Congress World Series was won by the Anchorage Glacier Pilots. The Pilots, of the Alaska Baseball League won their fifth NBC championship by beating the Hays Larks in the final. Hays were runners up for the second straight year.
Anchorage pitcher Jeff Francis of the University of British Columbia was named MVP of the tournament. Francis actually played for the Anchorage Bucs during the season but when they failed to qualify for the NBC World Series he joined their cross-town rivals the Pilots in time for the tournament.
The National Baseball Congress World Series is played at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium in Wichita, KS. 48 teams from 21 different states participated.
