Cape Girardeau Capahas

The Cape Girardeau Capahas are an amateur baseball team from Cape Girardeau, MO. They played their first game in 1894, making them the oldest amateur team in the country. [1]. The name Capaha comes from the original sponsor of the team, the CA-PA-HA flour company.

Jess Bolan was the team's manager for 50 years until he retired after the 2016 season. His record was 1519-411. The Capahas were an independent team for most of their history but in 2018 they joined the Mon-Clair League. As the Mon Clair League is not affiliated with the National Baseball Congress, the Caps did not appear at the National Baseball Congress World Series that year, a tournament they had participated in for 35 consecutive years, from 1982 to 2016. Their best finish in the tournament was in 1988 when they got to the semi finals. They play at Capaha Park.
