Kansas Stars
The Kansas Stars are a team of former Major Leaguers who were originally put together by Kansans Adam LaRoche and Nate Robertson to participate at the 2016 National Baseball Congress World Series. The only non major leaguer on the team was Koby Clemens, whose father Roger Clemens was instrumental in putting together the team, given his wide network of contacts and the credibility his participation lent to the venture. The Stars were defeated in the semi-finals by the Hays Larks. The Stars won the 2017 National Baseball Congress World Series by going through the tournament unbeaten and knocking off the Everett Merchants in the final.
