Virginia League
(Redirected from Virginia State League)
The first Virginia League lasted from 1894-1896. The second Virginia League lasted one year, 1900, before changing names to the Virginia-North Carolina League. The third Virginia League was a minor league in operation from 1906 through 1928. Originally a class C league, it was advanced to class B in 1920. Another league with the same name was established in 1939 at class D and upgraded to classs C two years later.
After an absence of a Virginia League from 1943 through 1947, another such circuit was begun in 1948. This class D loop lasted for four seasons before folding.
