Biographical Information[edit]
Dick Attreau was one of a number of first basemen who got playing time on the 1926 Philadelphia Phillies. Jack Bentley, who was a two-way player, played the most games at first, followed by Russ Wrightstone. Attreau was a 29-year-old rookie who spent most of 1926 with Norfolk, hitting .371. The following year, 34-year-old Wrightstone won the job, while Attreau backed him up; Bentley was with the New York Giants in 1927.
