Newport News, VA
Newport News is located in southeastern Virginia, on a peninsula delimited by the estuary of the James River to the west, and Chesapeake Bay to the east. The city of Hampton, VA lies to the south and forms the tip of the peninsula, while Norfolk, VA is 10 miles to the south, across the estuary. Newport News is part of the "Tidewater" area.
