Biographical Information[edit]

Kyle Crockett pitched in the majors from 2014 to 2018, primarily for the Cleveland Indians. Through 2019, the only other major leaguer with the same last name was Davey Crockett.

Crockett was a huge star as a high schooler in Virginia, twice being named state player of the year. He was 27-0 in his junior and senior seasons. At the University of Virginia, he had an excellent ERA. He spent most of his minor league career in the Indians organization as a reliever. He had very low ERAs in the minors in 2013 and 2014, and got a shot at the majors in 2014, for whom he had a 1.80 ERA in 43 games. He was not as good from 2015 to 2017, but spent some time in the majors each year. As a free agent, he was signed by the Cincinnati Reds and spent most of 2018 with the Louisville Bats, but was in the bigs for 15 games and a 5.79 ERA. The Oakland Athletics signed him and released him before the 2019 season, Kyle catching on with the Arizona Diamondbacks for 2020.
