Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Jack Walker was one of the few remaining professional players from the 1930s at the time of his death in 2014.

He played for the South Boston-Halifax Wrappers in 1938, hitting .305 with 5 home runs, 37 doubles and 143 hits in 116 games. In 1939, he suited up for the South Boston Wrappers, hitting .323 with 9 home runs and 81 hits in 66 games. He returned to South Boston in 1940 and hit .294 with 59 hits in 48 games. He also played briefly for the Newport News Dodgers in 1944.
