Biographical Information[edit]

New Jersey native Everett Fagan spent five active seasons in professional baseball from 1940 to 1947. He spent parts of two seasons in the Major Leagues in 1943 and 1946. Fagan made his Big League debut with the Philadelphia Athletics on April 24, 1943 and established a 2-6 record in 18 appearances before being sent down to the minors for more seasoning. After returning from his military service Everett was back up with the Athletics in 1946, pitching his last game on September 23. He appeared in 20 games and came up with a 0-1 record. This ended his Major League run and he finished up in the Bigs with a 2-7 record with a 5.47 ERA while appearing in 38 games.

Everett spent all five of his active seasons in the minors at one time or another. He never had a losing season while there and had two good years. The first came in 1941 for the Harrisonburg Turks of the class C Virginia League when he went 13-7. The second came in 1942 when he went 20-12 for the Pulaski Counts, leading the Virginia League in wins. During his time in the minor leagues Everett compiled a 53-29 record, pitching 707 innings in 106 appearances.

Fagan served in Europe for the United States Army during World War II. He operated his own plumbing business in Peapack, New Jersey from 1955 to 1980. He died after a long illness on February 16, 1983 at Memorial Hospital in Morristown, NJ, at the age of 65.
