Richmond, VA
Richmond is the capital of the state of Virginia, located on the James River in the center of the state, 100 miles south of Washington, DC and 50 miles northwest of Norfolk, VA. It is also the seat of Henrico County, VA and was the capital of the Confederate States of America during the Civil War.
