Biographical Information[edit]

Parker Morin peaked at AAA and played for Team USA.

Morin hit .525 in high school in 2008 and .372 at Southern Idaho. [1] He batted .314/.353/.414 at the University of Utah in 2012. The Kansas City Royals took him in the 14th round of the 2012 amateur draft; the scout was Ken Munoz. [2] He hit .267/.301/.410 for the 2012 Idaho Falls Chukars. In '13, he batted .226/.294/.293 for the Wilmington Blue Rocks, fielding .989 and throwing out 32% of those who tried to steal. Baseball America rated him as the best defensive catcher in the Royals chain. [3]

In 2014, he played for Idaho Falls (6 for 30, 2B, HR, 3 R, 4 RBI), Northwest Arkansas Naturals (.206/.261/.291 in 55 G) and the Omaha Storm Chasers (0 for 3, BB). The next year, he played for Northwest Arkansas (.309/.347/.498 in 56 G) and Wilmington (0 for 8). He tied for 8th in the Royals chain with five triples and tied for fifth in the Texas League (with Jeremy Hazelbaker, Adalberto Mondesi, Drew Robinson, Chad Oberacker and Travis Jankowski). He backed up Dan Rohlfing on Team USA in the 2015 Premier 12. He was retired by Yorman Bazardo his first time up and finished 1-for-8, his lone hit coming off Takahiro Norimoto. He handled 20 chances error-free. [4]

The Virginia native hit .184/.255/.239 for Omaha in 2016; he was the team's main catcher (72 games to 61 from Tony Cruz). In 2017, he played for Omaha (.167/.187/.250 in 23 G), Northwest Arkansas (.179/.238/.196 in 18 G) and the AZL Royals (7 for 25, 2 2B, 3B, HR, BB). With the '18 Storm Chasers, he batted .265/.321/.351 as the backup to Cam Gallagher. He moved on to the independent leagues in 2019, producing at a .251/.295/.396 clip in 70 games for the Lancaster Barnstormers.

In 2024, he was named a bullpen catcher and pitching strategist for the Kansas City Royals.
