Biographical Information[edit]

Robert Robinson was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the first round, 18th overall, of the 1968 amateur draft. He spent eight seasons in the minor leagues, reaching as high as Triple-A, though he never reached the majors. The righty-hitting slugger hit .251 with 86 home runs and 573 hits in 723 games. Perhaps his best season was 1972, with the Montgomery Rebels - that year, he hit .249/.362/.484 with 28 home runs and 94 RBI in 134 games. He hit 16 home runs in 1971 and 18 in 1973.
