Biographical Information[edit]

After playing college ball at the University of Richmond, pitcher Porter Vaughan was signed by Connie Mack and the Philadelphia Athletics in 1940. After serving in the army during World War II, he returned to the Athletics briefly before going into the real estate business. He died in 2008 at age 89.
