Biographical Information

Outfielder Nic Jackson played college ball at the University of Richmond from 1998-2000 and finished a bachelor's degree in business administration and management years later. The Chicago Cubs drafted Jackson in the third round of the 2000 amateur draft and he played in their minor league system from 2000 to 2006, reaching as high as AAA. He split 2007 between the New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies systems to complete his tenure in organized ball. Jackson played parts of eight years in the independent Atlantic League, Northern League, and American Association from 2008 to 2015. Over his 16-year professional career, Jackson hit .288/.356/.455 with 303 doubles, 237 steals in 299 tries, and 143 homers in 1,268 games.

Jackson returned to the Cubs in 2017 as a professional scout and stayed in that role through the 2020 season. He joined the New York Mets organization in 2021 as the hitting coach for the Brooklyn Cyclones. In 2022, he was hired by the Kansas City Royals as an assistant minor league hitting coordinator.
