Biograohical Information[edit]

Travis Reininger was a major league umpire from 2005 to 2008. He began umpiring professionally in 1997 in the Pioneer League. He moved up to the Midwest League, Florida State League and Eastern League. In 2002, he debuted in the Pacific Coast League. He has also worked in the International League. During his major league career, Reininger was a fill-in umpire, appearing in a total of 75 games but never getting promoted to the permanent umpiring staff. He worked the 2006 World Baseball Classic.

During his career, he ejected 8 persons from the game, but these came as part of only three incidents: on April 23, 2006, a game he was umpiring turned into a beanball war, and he sent off San Francisco Giants manager Felipe Alou and pitching coach Dave Righetti, Alou's counterpart with the Colorado Rockies, Clint Hurdle, and pitchers Ray King and Matt Morris. Ironically, King had been the victim of his first ejection, at the end of the 2005 season, for arguing balls and strikes. The other incident came on July 8, 2007, when P Joe Blanton pushed Ichiro Suzuki and got the heave-ho, as did Miguel Batista, who came out of the dugout to react to Blanton's gesture.

After his umpiring career ended, he began a guided duck and goose hunting company.
