2006 Major League Baseball
(Redirected from 2006 ML)
The 2006 Major League Baseball season was the seventh season in which the two major leagues, the National League and the American League, were consolidated into a single entity under the authority of the Commissioner, Bud Selig.
Events[edit]
The first edition of the World Baseball Classic was held before the 2006 season. Japan won the tournament, defeating Cuba in the finale.
A new Collective Bargaining Agreement was signed in 2006. It was in force until the 2011 season. In contrast to previous editions, the agreement was negotiated in a positive climate without recourse to the threat of a work stoppage.
