Biographical Information[edit]
Wally Bell was a major league umpire from 1992, when he began working National League games, to 2013. He passed away from a heart attack only a few days after working the 2013 Division Series between the St. Louis Cardinals and Pittsburgh Pirates. In his honor, the umpiring crews in the two 2013 League Championship Series and at the 2013 World Series wore patches with the initials WB.
