Biographical Information[edit]
Adam Dowdy began his career as an umpire in the Gulf Coast League in 1995. Other stops included the Northwest League (1996), Midwest League (1997), Florida State League (1998), Double-A Eastern League (1999-2000), the Triple-A Pacific Coast League (2001-2005) and International League (2006-2008)
He was a Major League Baseball fill-in umpire from 2002 to 2007. Internationally, Dowdy umpired the inaugural World Baseball Classic in 2006, and he was selected to umpire the 2011 Baseball World Cup in Panama. He was named the IBAF Umpire of the Year for 2011. Dowdy is a staff member of the NCAA Pac-12 and WAC conferences.
