Biographical Information[edit]
Mike Reilly became a big league umpire in 1977 as part of the American League staff and worked until 2010, having been integrated into the consolidated major league staff in 2000. He was designated a crew chief later in his career.
He started his professional umpiring career in the Gulf Coast League in 1972. He then worked in the Florida State League (1972-1973), the Eastern League (1974-1975) and the American Association (1976-1977). He worked at total of 4,491 major league games, in adition to 6 Division Series, 9 League Championship Series, 4 World Series (1984, 1992, 2002 and 2007) and 4 All-Star Games (1982, 1993, 2000 and 2010). He was the home plate umpire for his last two Midsummer Classics.
