Crew chief
The crew chief is usually the most senior umpire on a crew. Crew chiefs are appointed by the office of the commissioner. Among his responsibilities: managing the umpiring crew with the commissioner's rules and policies, reviewing and discussing controversial plays with the crew, filing reports on ejections and protests, and reporting any irregularities in the playing field.
