Biographical Information[edit]

Bill Miller has been a major league umpire since 1997, when he worked his first game in the American League. He began his umpiring career in the 1990 Northwest League and moved up to the South Atlantic League (1991), California League (1991-1992), Texas League (1993-1994), International League (1995) and Pacific Coast League (1995-1999). He became a full-time member of the major league umpiring staff in 2000, but had worked American League games in each of the previous three season.

He worked the 2007 All-Star Game, 2009 World Baseball Classic, 2010 World Series, 2017 World Baseball Classic and 2023 World Baseball Classic.

Miller was promoted to crew chief before the 2014 season.
