Biographical Information[edit]
The son of Syd Thrift, Jim Thrift managed five years in the minors. He played for the 1984 Medford A's, going 3 for 37 with 3 walks, 10 strikeouts and no extra-base hits. In the field, he had 5 errors in 48 tries at third base and second base. He later was a Baltimore Orioles scout, signing Anthony Caronia.
Thrift was a coach for the GCL Pirates in 1986, Salem Buccaneers in 1987, Rockford Royals in 1993, and Indianapolis Indians in 1994-1997.
